The Top 100 Most Popular YA Books: How Many Have You Read?

Lists are a great way for readers (and librarians) to keep track of what they’ve read, what they want to read, and what they’re currently reading.

Recently, a blogger within the book-blogosphere created a list called, “Top 100 Most Popular YA Books.” Each blogger who picks it up seems to credit someone else (to name a few, Annette’s Book SpotRather Barefoot Than BooklessReading Teen, and Novel Thoughts), so I have no idea who originally made this list. Or how legitimate it might be, for that matter. Also,  I don’t agree that all of the books on the list are in fact YA, although I know many of them appeal to teens. But it was fun anyhow, so I wanted to share it with all you loyal readers!

The books I’ve read are in blue and the books I own are bolded (the books that I own and have read are bolded in blue).

ooh, thanks for this list! I’ve read some, not I have a lot more to add to my list:)

  2. If you want to check out the books I’ve read, you can check out my post of this list at: http://yabooksbeyondthecover.blogspot.com/2011/09/top-100-ya-book-list.html
    :)

  3. People on Goodreads often create lists like this. I can’t for the life of my understand why Lips Touch Three Times by Laini Taylor isn’t on this list. It needs to be at number one and Daughter of Smoke and Bone at number 2!

  4. I have read some but no where near all 100 of these. It interesting to see which ones are the most popular that people have read.

Hahaha, I love that you’ve read the first and fourth books of The Mortal Instruments series. :) It’s so interesting to see what people have and haven’t read. I agree with you, that there are some on this list that I’m not sure are YA, but it works. And I still need to read a bunch of these as well, like The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and The Secret Life of Bees.

  6. I have read the Harry Potters, some of the Wimpy kids, and the hunger games books.
