BookExpo America 2011

BookExpo America 2011

For those lucky enough to live in the tri-state area (or those able to travel to the tri-state area), this May brings around the ever-exciting BookExpo America (BEA). This year’s event, running from May 23rd to May 26th, will feature more than 500 authors, hundreds of new titles, 1,300+ exhibitors, multiple author Stages, plus much, much more!

This year will be my first BEA expo ever attended and I am both excited and nervous!

A little more information about BEA from their website:

BEA combines the largest selection of English language titles on the planet with special industry and author events along with unparalleled educational content delivering a dynamic environment for networking, sourcing, and relationship building. The “Big Ideas at BEA” Conference features content that addresses critical industry issues and offer insights and information about conducting and expanding businesses.

BEA is a trade only event that delivers the largest gathering of booksellers, librarians, retailers, and industry professionals anywhere in North America. It is where the latest technology trends are discovered, explained and on display. BEA is a content event as the leading rights fair in North and South America for agents, scouts, sub-rights as well as movie/television production and development personnel. It is the media event for publishing with more than 2,000 credentialed media personnel.

In addition, there are many concurrent shows this year, including DIY Authors Conference & MarketplaceIBPA Annual Publishing University, Audio Publishers Association Conference (APAC)ABA Day of EducationIDPF Digital Book Conference 2011Publishers Launch Conference at BEA: eBooks Go GlobalBlogWorld & New Media Expo, and my personal favorite, the Book Blogger Convention.
